John Kaldawi was inspired by the eight limbs of yoga
by Patanjali, a teaching that leads to liberation. It offers guidance on how to live meaningful
and purposeful life. Yoga means to unite, to connect to our true Self.
The
8 limbs of Yoga are:
1-
Yama: Restraints, moral disciplines or
moral vows.
2-
Niyama: Positive duties or observances.
3-
Asana: Posture.
4-
Pranayama: Breathing Techniques.
5- Pratyahara: Sense withdrawal.
6-
Dharana: Focused concentration.
7-
Dhyana: Meditative Absorption.
8-
Samadhi: Bliss or Enlightenment.
Doing
more research, John
learned that once the mind is pure and we experience the state of Samadhi, and
we can truly hold on to that state for sometime, we attain "Moksha",
a permanent state of being liberated and free from the cycle of life and death.
John Kaldawi also learned that The Eight Limbs of Yoga
are essential to practice in our everyday lives to reach the depth of who we
truly are, to reach our inner self.
